Ideal Logic Max 30 Boiler Replacement in Hull

At a Glance

We fitted this Hull family’s original Ideal boiler around 14 years ago. When it came to the end of its working life, they came straight back to us to replace it. We fitted a brand new Ideal Logic Max 30, backed by a 10-year warranty.

Before, During and After

1. The old boiler

What we found: After around 14 years of keeping this home warm, the original Ideal boiler had reached the end of its working life.

Why it matters: Most boilers last somewhere between 10 and 15 years. Past that point, breakdowns tend to become more frequent and parts harder to find, so replacing at the right time saves money and stress.

2. Out with the old

What we did: We removed the old boiler and fitted a new backboard and mounting bracket, ready for the new boiler.

Why it matters: A solid, level fixing is the foundation of a good installation. It keeps the boiler secure and the pipework and flue lined up properly for years to come.

3. In with the new Ideal Logic Max 30

What we did: We fitted the new Ideal Logic Max 30 in the same cupboard and connected it up to the existing pipework.

Why it matters: As Ideal Max Accredited installers, we can offer the Logic Max with a 10-year warranty, so this family is covered for years to come.

Is It Time to Replace Your Boiler?

There is no fixed age when a boiler has to go, but these are the signs we look for:

  • It is 12 to 15 years old or more, and starting to need regular repairs.
  • Repair bills are adding up, or a major part has failed.
  • Parts are getting hard to find for your model.
  • Your gas bills are creeping up even though you are using the heating the same way.
  • Hot water or heating is unreliable, especially on the coldest days.

If your boiler is older but still running well, an annual service may be all it needs. See our 15-year-old Greenstar Junior service for an example.

Keeping Your 10-Year Warranty Valid

A long manufacturer warranty is only as good as the paperwork behind it. To keep it valid:

  • Register the boiler with the manufacturer after it is fitted.
  • Have it serviced every year by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
  • Keep your service records safe, as you may be asked for them if you ever need to claim.

Our Cosy Home Plus plan includes your annual service from £9 a month, so you never miss one.
